Are you an enthusiastic Business Analyst in the corporate finance sector looking to catapult your career into the renewables game? We have a brilliant opportunity that will allow you to grow your career into a Junior Transactor who will be leading your own transactions for one of the most successful IPP firms in Africa!

Before we get going with telling you more about this once in a lifetime opportunity - you need to have a CA or CFA to qualify for the position as this is directly linked to your ability to grow into a senior position with due time in the firm. Our client is looking for someone who can successfully conduct financial models and who can take ownership of their tender activities - from sourcing tenders right through to putting the proposals together (from a financial standpoint). You will find yourself learning from the industries finest, a direct reporting link to the senior management team - so they want someone who is ambitious and willing to learn (yes - go the extra mile). As your experience gains, you will find yourself liaising with the lenders and regulators and travelling extensively across Africa, but for now - your financially modelling expertise will be utilized for IPP projects (variety RE technologies) in the Southern Africa band of countries. Since the firm already has 1000's of models, you will be able to jump in and quickly learn the ropes through applying your sharp and articulate mindset and ability to transfer knowledge into a practical application.

We are looking for someone who can see themselves getting into a space where they conduct activities that include; project origination, negotiations (includes commercial and legal contract negotiations), and in essence, new market analysis (looking at the demands and gaps as well as the feasibility and due diligence), managing your own deals, ranging from corporate/project mergers and acquisition, non-recourse project finance and conducting diverse winning tender strategies.

Education Requirements

Having an MBA is ideal
Vital that you have a CA (SA) or CFA (level 2)

Experience Requirements

2+ years of finance experience (ideally infrastructure exp) OR having completed your accounting articles

Responsibilities

Business development (mostly from a tenders standpoint - includes putting success-driven tenders together for submission)
Financial modelling (includes providing independent tax advice for financial modelling purposes), transaction structuring and market research
Commercial and legal contract negotiation
Preparing and modelling off-taker demand curves (to calculate optimal system sizing and optimal cost savings)
Due diligence, including; conducting credit reviews on power purchasers, technical, environmental, legal, tax and financial

Skills

Strong MS products skills - specifically on Excel
Exceptional analytical and financial skills
