One of the biggest players in South Africa’s solar distribution and equipment sales is on the hunt for an intelligent and results-driven Business Developer who knows how to dissect the market into opportunities for the firm's long-term sales strategies – BUT this person needs to be fluent in German (or Dutch)!

We are looking for a professional who has 3+ years’ experience in solar PV product B2B sales. This means you need to come with an established network and must be aware of all the EPC’s and installers in the market so that you can hit the ground running! You will be someone who draws on market research and intelligence to establish and qualify your leads. You are driven by numbers and closing deals, able to negotiate a close and identify new clients' needs without needing to ask them. Through your ability to understand the needs of new clients who are not yet familiar with your brand, you will find yourself playing a key role in building the firm's brand presence and reputation in the market. You are respected by your clients as an objective and strategic thinker who has their best interests at heart.

You will find yourself working alongside the sales and accounts teams, providing insight and key learnings that will forge the teams for success in the market. You will work directly with the Sales Manager and feed in strategies and optimization plans to extend the portfolio of products to new clients within the solar space. You will also be responsible for advising what products should be offered in order to maintain agility for the business in a changing technology-driven environment. Part of your responsibilities will lend yourself to assisting teams to meet their KPI’s through your business development and ensuring that the company's targets are met, having strong technical skills, and understanding the need to maintain an up to date CRM will be pivotal.

Education Requirements

Must have a Commerce, Finance or any relevant Marketing or Sales degree

Experience Requirements

3+ years’ experience in B2B solar sales within the solar PV industry is essential
Strong research skills are essential
Must have proven experience on-boarding new clients, successfully vetting new clients and closing deals
Ability to manage sales teams and drive success is crucial
Must have proven experience meeting targets and KPIs as well as developing a strong project pipeline
Working knowledge of CRM systems and other sales software
Experience fostering relationships with existing and potential clients
