With non-negotiable experience in the carbon industry and knowledge of international carbon standards such as VCS, Gold Standard and CDM, this role will require you to source, screen, plan and develop emission reduction estimations and project documents of exceptional high quality. If this sounds like the opportunity you have been waiting for, you will have an excellent working knowledge of carbon finance and renewable energy technologies, supported by 6+ years of experience working in the industry.

Your core responsibilities will include developing, designing, implementing and managing carbon offsetting projects throughout their life cycles. Your excellent written and verbal English skills will enable you to produce high quality MRV designs, compile report documents and report on your progress to a variety of high-level stakeholders. Part of your daily project management duties will include planning and supporting the certification processes for projects, work schedules and budgets. You will schedule and oversee technical reviews and quality checks, continuously updating project information as you go. Your intricate knowledge and interest in the carbon industry and current market affairs will prepare you for the legal requirements necessary to validate, verify and issue support within the South African Offset Registry.

With an abundant network of project developers and managers, technology providers and public and private entities, which you have established over your time working in the carbon and renewable energy industry, you will be required to assist with business development through sourcing and contracting suitable carbon projects to add to the firms portfolio. Your sense of adventure will be taken care of as you will be expected to travel to site when necessary, undertaking the responsibility of the key point of contact between the company and its internal and external stakeholders, including project owners, clients, governmental bodies and team members. As a team player, this role will require you to work closely with the firms Country Director and Senior Carbon Advisor to ensure sourcing strategies are streamlined effectively.
