We are on the hunt for a strategic and intellectual Commercial Director to drive ROI across our client’s Horn of Africa portfolio. The ideal candidate will find themselves building a team of professional and accomplished individuals who will have an established brand and base in Kenya operating in commercial operations. We are looking for someone with international and local experience in Djibouti, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia geos. A professional who has proven experience rolling out cleantech products ideally. You must have worked with teams with a compliment of 30+ employees.
This unique opportunity provides the successful candidate with exceptional growth potential with the company and in turn team management and leadership responsibilities. The main objective of this position would be to grow the total regional revenue and profit in the Horn of Africa region by expanding the company geographically and generating demand for the products. In addition to this, you will be responsible for building a solid country team that consists of senior-level management and the corresponding support staff that will assist in achieving this company growth.
Your 10+ years of relevant experience heading up and running commercial operations is non-negotiable to our client - you should have B2B experience. We are looking for an individual that is multi-faceted and is well-versed with producing and presenting strategy reports and overseeing business development and sales plans as well as executing a set of marketing activities that will place the company on the map. You must also have cross-border Somalian and Ethiopian experience (ideally with Sudan and Djibouti too), with the ability to foster and maintain high-level relationships with government officials, industry organisations, financial institutions as well as distributors and wholesalers in the market. The ability to speak AMHARIC and SOMALI languages is non-negotiable.
