Our client, a leading global wind energy provider is seeking a strategic philanthropist to join their team as an Economic Development Specialist in Gauteng.
The ideal candidate will find themselves integral in the Economic Development team, driving the overall social investment strategy, ensuring that the project communities benefit and are empowered by the client’s project objectives and stakeholder engagements. In order to meet KPI’s the ideal candidate will effectively engage, communicate and leverage all relevant stakeholders, ensuring that ED and BEE compliance requirements are met and are supported by long-term innovative strategies that will maximize the positive impact on the community and their local suppliers’ development.
You will need to be highly organized as you contribute to various stakeholders required outcomes, reporting and conducting research which will support your goals during the construction and implementation phases of the projects. You will need to have a keen eye for social investment opportunities and the development and support of SMME’s. A large part of your duties will include handling all matters pertaining to BEE management and reporting, which includes; preparing and implementing the BEE and SED strategies, measuring, monitoring, assessing and auditing these efforts. In addition, you will need to have a firm personality, ensuring the EPC contractors deliver on their obligations. You will find yourself auditing ever stitch of the project to ensure you have successfully met all stakeholders needs and reporting diligently. Working closely with the community, you will aid the facilitation of local recruitment and facilitate business community engagements.

Must have BEE experience
Previous experience working with government is highly advantageous
Social services and community development experience is highly beneficial
Must have a valid driver’s licence

Strong MS office skills for reporting are needed
Multilingual ability is preferable (African Languages)
