Head of Factory

Head of Factory | Seafood Processing | Namibia

A leading international food processing business is seeking an experienced Head of Factory to take full responsibility for one of its flagship manufacturing operations.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across a high-volume processing facility, leading large teams, delivering production targets, maintaining world-class quality standards, and embedding a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all factory operations to achieve production, quality and cost objectives.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements and yield optimisation.
• Oversee plant performance, maintenance and equipment availability.
• Lead large multidisciplinary teams and foster a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Partner closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial and other business functions.
• Support budgeting, cost control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10-15 years’ experience leading factory or plant operations.
• Proven experience managing large industrial workforces.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning and process optimisation.
• Experience operating within a unionised environment.
• Solid knowledge of HSE and quality management systems.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional level English.

Someone who has successfully led complex manufacturing operations, built high-performing teams and consistently delivered improvements in productivity, efficiency and operational performance.

Experience within seafood or food processing is highly advantageous, although candidates from other high-volume manufacturing environments with transferable leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
