Description

A mega player with international clean energy projects that span across the globe is looking for a Maintenance Manager to oversee their power project in Uganda. Our client is one of the leading developers and asset managers of large scale projects and with that they employ only the best of the best - which is why they have been able to develop a strong brand in the sustainability space.

If you are the right candidate for this great opportunity – you will have 6+ years of big hydro experience (10 – 60 MW specifically) and have worked in the pre-operational activities of hydro plants. With a degree in electrical/power or mechanical engineering under your belt and an ability to optimize plants performance from a technical perspective that ensures cost-effective operations (while of course maintaining best international standards/best practices) – you will be heading up all maintenance aspects of the project. You will be well versed with managing teams from a mixed cultural background, able to motivate and get the best performance standards from your team while staying abreast of the best risk mitigation processes and protocols. It goes without saying that you will be not only a hands on technical professional – but highly organized and able to effectively manage all reporting requirements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or power systems engineering

Experience Requirements

6+ years of big hydro experience (10 – 60 MW specifically) - ideally across Africa
4+ years as a Maintenance Manager for hydro projects (from pre-operations to commission right through to O&M)
Experience making plants more cost-effective while not compromising best practices in terms of international standards
Must be familiar with control systems and PLCs
