Acting as an internal consultant to a team that operates in Southern-Central Africa, you will find yourself analysing all aspects of the business from a strategic standpoint and creating as well as continuously improving on their existing Standard Operating Procedures to ensure efficiencies in their operations and deployment departments are identified and achieved. In fact, this opportunity allows for the right skill to add unsurmountable value to the firm which is directly linked to the incumbents proven expertise in mapping out business processes and developing measurable and tangible solutions for improvement, solutions which generate enhancements to the firms bottom line and employee retention rates and activity outputs. Using your ability to consistently identify gaps in the SOP’s, feedback loops (more specific to R&D improvements), as well training initiatives, your goal will be to ensure that as the company is rapidly expanding across Africa, your implemented strategies are easily and happy adopted by the team – no matter where they are based. If you are the ideal person for this position, you will have an understanding of the flow of energy from generation through distribution to the customer, as well as an understanding of the basics of energy consumption. You will know and understand the components and workings of an electric transmission and distribution network. You will need to be able to grow leaders through your insights and strategies and motivate and inspire teams to adopt your process improvement plans. This role will require you to be an excellent listener (as you gather information) as well as communicator since you will be spearheading the collation and content of materials. Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar) from a top tier university that is recognised internationally
5+ years’ experience in business management, management consulting or process engineering specific to business process and efficiency improvements
Experience working in a Management Consulting environment with international exposure
Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety protocol is vital as you will need to understand how these elements tie into the project-based work and your suggested improvements for their deployment teams
Exceptional experience in training teams to adopt new processes and proven ability to analyse and monitoring the results
Responsible for process mapping and gap identification, continuous improvement of SOPs, testing and adoption of improvements to various areas, documenting processes, and training interface.
Excellent written communication skills – cross functional (including gathering insights through verbal engagements)
Highly computer literate
Expertise in communications for standard operating procedure and training (from afar)
Expertise in process optimisation and business efficiency engineering
Strategic thinker with an ability to analyse and implement strategies
