We are looking for a Key Account Manager who is able to understand and utilise their company’s core product offering to effectively support their clients in deploying solar projects across South Africa. We are in search of someone with a technical problem-solving mindset who is energised by working with people – a technical extrovert. Our client has a monopoly over the procurement and logistics space for cutting edge solar PV products to large engineering and construction firms throughout the region. This account management role will allow you to grow and develop your business suave in a dynamic and solutions-driven business environment within the renewable energy industry.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a commerce, finance or marketing-related degree with at least 3-5 years’ experience managing and upselling to multiple B2B returning clients. If this is the role for you, you will be capable of maintaining and fostering relationships with existing clients, operating with a long-term goal in mind to ensure loyalty to the brand – which is a direct result of your engagement with the client. You should be highly organised and able to simultaneously see to your clients’ needs whilst ensuring that each receives the correct product information in a timely manner. In addition to this, you will need to showcase an attention to detail in order to accurately capture data onto the company CRM and ensure that you have complete historical records of interactions with clients. In addition to this, you should have confident communication and reporting skills, allowing you to prepare detailed proposals and quotes that vary depending on each client’s requirements and needs. You will demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and an ability to upsell to clients based on an in-depth understanding of their needs and budgetary requirements.
In this position, you will find yourself constantly thinking of new ways to improve your client's user experience with the ERP system and how you engage with clients in these processes to help the business expand its sales targets. It will be this type of attitude which will enable you to grow into a senior position where you can share your knowledge with others and build a solid team around you. Commerce, Finance or Marketing degree
3-5 years’ experience managing B2B (solar PV) client accounts
Experience using various CRM systems
Proven experience fostering long-lasting relationships with existing clients and growing a portfolio of clients
