We are on the hunt for a technical power plant pro who is constantly seeking to improve operations and ensuring that maintenance is the way to do so.
Our client, a global IPP and clean energy developer needs a Plant Manager to take the bull by its horns by making sure that the daily operations of the power plant facility works well and are translating into sound investments and ROI for our client. With the support of a close-knit and dynamic team, you will achieve your goals, but you must be willing to lead and engage with the wind turbine plant team and the BOP contractors to ensure contractual obligations are being fulfilled. You will be reporting to the Head of Technical & Engineering and the General Manager, both of whom you can lean on for guidance as you will in turn lend that same support to them through effectively running the plant.
If you are the perfect professional to take on this opportunity, you will have a minimum of 8+ years’ experience working on power plants with sizes ranging from 1MW to 100MW. Your engineering degree will allow you to adequately handle complex problems and relay information to your team that will assist them with any issues that they run into concerning wind turbines. In addition, your extensive experience will properly equip you to be able to manage all processes which will include maintaining records of O&M activities, daily and monthly reporting, and following up on performance issues. Furthermore, you will be overseeing health and safety procedures, ensuring that our client’s plant never falters.

Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree will be considered
GCC certified is highly advantageous
8+ years’ experience within an O&M environment, preferably of a utility scale power plant
Proven experience working on plants varying in size from 1MW to 100MW
Experience in planning, supervising and executing BOP maintenance
Experience managing various individuals ranging from the staff, contractors and OEMs
As a Plant Manager, you will find yourself responsibly for the overall performance of the plant, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. In turn, you will need to effectively engage and communicate with contractors, power plant staff and top management to convey any information regarding breakdowns, scheduled activities or performance issues.
Solid Health and Safety procedural knowledge
Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
Able to effectively manage your time and meeting specific deadlines and tasks
