We are in search of two hands on, people centric Sales Engineers to join a rapidly growing firm which distributes solar PV products throughout South Africa and beyond. The company is focused on growing their brand as South Africa’s go to company for solar equipment and needs a smart, technically minded professional who can add value through their depth of understanding and hands on experience in off-grid and battery storage equipment for systems under 100 kW.
The ideal candidate for this role will have 1 – 2 years’ experience in the solar field, ideally having come from a solar PV installation company and have had experience in a maintenance capacity – quickly being able to fix issues for clients – be it residential or commercial. You will have a technical qualification and a problem-solving nature, able to quickly troubleshoot problems with solar PV systems. Your knowledge of how systems fit together and the role each component plays within a solar system to function optimally will be the core of your responsibilities and value add. You will find clients turning to you to solve their technical woes and you will need to quickly be able to identify the problem and provide a smart solution and then implement that solution! Furthermore, you will be playing a key role in supporting the sales teams, helping them to understand and identify what products are best used for each clients specific needs – advising them on the perfect equipment solution that will translate into sales for the company and how to identify the ideal product or answer difficult technical questions the customer may ask! You will be reporting straight to the Technical Manager and feeding information back into the database by updating the system and suggesting which new products the company should incorporate into their product offering.
As the Sales Engineer, you will be client facing, you will attend events where potential customers can engage with you on technical questions on the products as well as scouting out what competitors are offering or what new equipment has entered the market! The team will turn to you to answer questions surrounding regulations for the installations of systems in South Africa and the neighboring countries where the company can expand its footprint!

Experience designing solar PV systems will short list your application to the top of the list
Proven knowledge of required regulations to install systems in the residential or C&I space is key
Experience working with off-grid and battery/energy storage equipment is key
Must have a VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
