Do you have solid experience working with commercial solar PV grid-tied projects, so much so that you understand what each component of a system does and could put a system together with your eyes closed? Our client, who is an international player and has now firmly established themselves in South Africa as a leading supplier of solar PV products for many EPC’s across the country – is looking for a sharp Technical Sales Engineer to provide support to their growing customer base.
The ideal candidate for this amazing opportunity which enables you to grow within a leading company, will have an Electrical Engineering degree with 1 – 2 years’ proven experience working on solar PV project sites. You will be someone who loves to work with solar PV systems and is able to quickly troubleshoot system problems remotely – which means your technical understanding of power systems is exceptional! You will find yourself reporting straight to the Technical Manager and working with an energetic problem-solving team who loves to talk tech. Your responsibilities will be to provide detailed troubleshooting guides for commercial client’s projects in terms of the products you offer, this will include information on grid-connection, PVSyst simulations and monitoring, string design, surge protection module optimizations as well as export limitations. In order to effectively provide customers with answers to solving their tough troubleshooting questions, you will turn to your ability to read PV designs and use these as a map to identify potential risks and issues occurring from their systems. The sales team will turn to you as their advisor, enabling them to grow their sales and build the companies ROI through your ability to spot product opportunities and solve difficult issues with their client’s products or operations of their systems. As the company expands into neighboring countries, you will need to expand your knowledge of South African regulations around installing solar systems in the C&I space to that of the countries the company plans to enter. Your ability to translate difficult technical terms and information into simple and intelligent text for the sales teams to use in their marketing materials will be key, in fact you will find yourself frequently attending events and using this skill to your advantage as you make complex solutions a simple answer to the companies clients!

Must have experience working on CRM systems
Must have a VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
