The Khâi-Ma 1000

Where Community

Takes Root

In one of South Africa’s most remote regions, communities are turning dry land into living proof of what local hands can grow.

A community-led tree planting project bringing
1 000 indigenous trees to the Khâi-Ma district.

In the dry Northern Cape, the Khâi-Ma 1000 Tree Planting Initiative shows what happens when South Africans invest in one another.
For every candidate placed through AltGen, a tree is planted and dedicated in their name. A living symbol of opportunity taking root.
Each placement grows beyond one person or company, creating work for local teams who plant and care for the trees.

Our goal is to plant 1 000 trees in three years, building both environmental and social renewal across the Khâi-Ma district.
Real growth happens when people grow together
.

A story of partnership.

The saplings come from a local grower. We support his business, develop his skills and his nursery grows alongside the community’s environmental impact.
