Important Note

Only candidates with extensive FIDIC Silver Book EPC contract administration experience, 16+ years’ commercial/contracts experience, and a proven track record managing utility-scale infrastructure or renewable energy project portfolios exceeding 500 MW will be considered.

Position Overview

An established renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Portfolio Contracts Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV projects delivered under bespoke FIDIC Silver Book EPC contracts.

This role is responsible for protecting the Employer’s contractual position through effective contract administration, proactive risk management, claims and variation management, and contractual compliance across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial administration of EPC contracts across a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Manage contractual notices, obligations and correspondence in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide contractual advice and support to Project Managers and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the assessment and management of claims, Extension of Time submissions and contractual disputes.
  • Manage variations, change control and contractor contractual compliance.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual risks across the project portfolio.
  • Manage contractual interfaces with EPC Contractors, the Owner’s Engineer, lenders and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contract documentation is well maintained within the specific electronic data management system.
  • Support contract close-out, including final accounts, warranties and release of securities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of FIDIC Silver Book (EPC/Turnkey) contracts.
  • Strong commercial, contractual risk management and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience managing claims, variations and Extension of Time assessments.
  • Excellent contract drafting and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Document Management Systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum of 16 years’ experience in contract administration and commercial management within large infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • Mandatory experience managing contract administration across multiple projects exceeding 500 MW.
  • Extensive experience administering bespoke FIDIC Silver Book EPC contracts.
  • Proven experience managing contractual claims, variations, Extension of Time assessments and contractual risk.
  • Experience working with international EPC contractors.
  • REIPPPP project experience is highly advantageous.
