Plant Manager – Solar Operations & Maintenance (Utility-Scale Solar PV | Eswatini)
An established renewable energy business is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of a utility-scale solar PV plant in Eswatini.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical or renewable energy professional who enjoys leading technical teams, driving plant performance, and ensuring safe, reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site operations and maintenance activities.
- Manage a team of technicians and external contractors.
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Monitor plant performance using SCADA and respond to operational issues.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
- Liaise with utilities and other external stakeholders where required.
- Report on plant performance, maintenance activities, incidents, and key operational KPIs.
- Support switching operations where appropriately authorised.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Plant Manager, Operations & Maintenance, or senior technical leadership role.
- Experience within utility-scale solar PV, renewable energy, or power generation environments.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems.
- Experience with SCADA or plant monitoring systems.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and contractors.
- Strong planning, reporting, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- MV switching certification will be advantageous.

- Eswatini nationals; or
- Hold permanent residence in Eswatini; or
- Hold a valid Eswatini work permit.
